On 11th November, 1914, the 20th Hussars of 5 Cavalry Brigade, 2nd Cavalry Division, rode to Neuve Eglise where they left their horses and moved on foot to some support trenches at Wulverghem where they remained for the next two days. On 12th November, the day on which Arthur Rouse was killed, the unit diary recorded that it was generally a quiet days with some sniping and shell fire in the afternoon. |
